The innovative Therm-a-Rest Saros 20 Degree sleeping bag utilizes premium synthetic insulation and a ground-breaking design to deliver reliable 3-season performance at a backpacking-friendly weight and packed size. With 40 years of experience building sleeping pads, Therm-a-Rest has an extensive background on how sleepers sleep. This wealth of experience has led to the development of the Therm-a-Rest sleeping bag, a unique offering that utilizes zoned insulation and Synergy Link mattress connectors to keep the bag properly connected to a sleeping pad (sold separately). Based on thermal mapping, insulation is concentrated on the top of the bag and used sparingly on the sides and bottom of the bag. With an assured connection point between the bag and the pad (up to 25' in length), warmth is directly provided to the sleeper by the R-value of the sleeping pad. A contoured shape provides room at the torso to move around while tapering at the feet to improve thermal efficiency. NOTE: Unlike traditional sleeping bags, there is little to no insulation on the bottom of the sleeping bag. The Saros 20 Degree bag is insulated with EraLoft synthetic insulation. Synthetic insulation dries much faster than down and provides warmth even when wet. This is particularly important if you'll be backpacking or camping in wet weather or humid climates. Therm-a-Rest further bolsters the all-weather performance of the Saros 20 Degree bag by applying a DWR finish to the 30D Polyester face fabric. Eliminating cold spots and providing comfort, baffled construction ensures that the insulation remains effectively distributed throughout the bag. A contoured, ergonomic hood helps reduce heat loss and keeps your head warm and comfortable. An insulated draft tube sewn behind the snag-free zipper keeps cold air from reaching the inside of the sleeping bag.
