Camping Devesa Gardens, Valencia

Lovely campsite situated out of town, a car is useful or buses run hourly in and out of valencia town centre from directly opposite the campsite entrance taking about 20 minutes one way and costing less than 2 euros, but stop at 9pm so need to plan ahead. This is a large complex with a zoo, restaurant, cafeteria, supermarket, cabins for hire....and room for tents and caravans. The staff are very helpful and will go out of their way to help you. Be warned if going out of season (I went in march) the restaurant,cafe and supermarket tend to open as they please (rarely), so make sure you have supplies for a night in case you get caught out as we did! The pool was closed, although the tennis courts were in use. a lovely site, very roomy, and on a main road which meets the beautiful pine forests of the albufera. The beach is 5 minutes walk away and was deserted when we went. Lovely hot showers, very clean. Definately recommend it if you dont wish to stay in the city centre. One more word of warning, taxi drivers often have trouble finding it so a bit of spanish helps. Excellent value for money.
