You want to relax away the stress and tension of modern living? You need to get away from the reality of the high-pressured contemporary lifestyle? BED & BREAKFAST VILLA FLORA in the heart of the Old Town of Dubrovnik offers just the right kind of escape from reality... Just imagine a medieval setting: no traffic, no urban turbulences and noise, labyrinths of stairs leading through narrow streets, old stone houses, all surrounded by the famous city walls. Villa Flora is ideally situated in a quiet street which offers all the historical authenticity, but yet only a few steps away from the main street Stradun, with all amenities such as coffee bars, restaurants, banks, post office, a traditional food market, museums - all gastro, cultural and other entertainment events, as well as the sea and beach at your reach, "just around the corner".... It is the right place to recharge your batteries and feel the stress of everyday pressures ebb away... The house was built in 18th century and together with its surroundings has the distinctive atmosphere and charm of the ages past. The latest refurbishment of the house was undertaken in 2005 in a way to combine traditional atmosphere and modern comfort. The house earned its name due to the fact that the floral pattern inspires all detail and decoration, and the old-fashioned furniture adds to the intended cosiness and romantic charm. Your privacy is ensured by the fact that there is only one room on each floor. The rooms have got ensuite bathroom, SAT/TV/DVD, and individually controlled air-conditioning. The room on the top floor has got a balcony from which you can enjoy beautiful sights of the Old Town. Wishing to add to your well-being and rest we offer personalized service: the languages spoken are Swedish, Danish, Spanish, German, Italian, Czech...and of course English. With the intention of keeping the atmosphere cosy and relaxed our staff will assist you to your rooms and happily provide any info about cultural, gastro and other events... Every morning you will be served full breakfast in the dining room on the ground floor. Coffee & tea making facilities are available in common areas. Mini bar with fine local liquors is free of charge, treat your self with tasty cherry brandy or walnut brandy before leaving for a nice dinner. A variety of books and DVDs are at your disposal to make your evenings or rainy days more fun. We hope that choosing Villa Flora will contribute in making your stay in this unique town a great experience... one that you'll surely want to repeat... Accommodation: Lavanda & Oleandra- double room Ruzmarin - twin beds with balcony Directions If you are arriving at Dubrovnik AIRPORT you can take the bus or a cab from the airport to the Old town. The airport is about 11 miles away and the ride takes approx. half an hour. - the bus goes every half an hour and costs around 5 eur. There are plenty of cabs which will take you to the Old Town for 200 kunas (about 30 eur), and we can also provide transport from the airport to the house for the same amount - we will wait for you at the gate with a name tag and take you directly to the house - just let us know your flight number and arrival time... If you decide to make your own way, the house is easy to find. Regardless if you are taking a taxi or a bus you will be left at the Pile" gate the western entrance to Old town (Old town is pedestrian zone only). and Villa Flora is only a 5 min walk from that entrance. You enter through that gate (over a small bridge) and you'll find yourselves at the famous main street Stradun". You just go down the main street and our street, Palmoticeva, is the third to the left (there is an T shirt shop on the corner). You go into the street, climb two flights of stairs (unfortunately there are a lot of stairs everywhere in Old town) and Villa Flora is on number 15, a green door to the left. Either we or our hostess will wait for you at the house. Dubrovnik is a small town and if you are arriving to the city harbor or to the main bus station, the Old Town and Villa Flora are also easy to get to. There is a bus station near the ferry port and it is really easy to find. You can take bus number 1,1a,1b,1c or 3 and it will drop you off at the Pile gate ( it is a short ride, 10 min or less) When you arrive to the main bus station you will see the local bus stop there and you should take bus number 1,1a,1b,1c or 3 to the Pile gate. (Pile gate is the last stop for all local buses, so you can't miss it and it is also the closest you can get to Old Town since it is a pedestrian zone only)
