Camp Municipal Metz Plage, Metz

Comfortable and pleasant site on the banks of the lagoon. Close to centre of Metz but traffic noise not too obtrusive. We found it difficult to find as we kept going the wrong way off the motorway (interesting suburbs!)although it's not far. If arriving after 4pm it's best to ring ahead to book as it's usually full in the summer by then. Be warned they do only speak French. Loos etc adequate and not squatties! Make sure you have spare loo roll as it 's not always topped up. Showers good. Nice little shop and cafe on site. Lovely and cheap overnighter en route to Germany/Austria. We'd go back more than willingly (we did for the return trip actually alter route to return!). Electrics and water o each pitch except for some tent spaces along actual bank of lagoon.
