Kalamitsi Camping, Chalkidiki

Have used the site for many years.Remarkable for its good beach fairly steeply shelving beach of heavy sand.Very clean sea. Camper vans are being allowed to encroach increasingly on the sea frontage. Set for the most part with good shade under Plane Trees. Toilets washing and showers to a 'reasonable only' standard. We keep going because it is still a friendly 'Greek' family site. Cheap very reasonable cafeteria, bar with please of seating. Above all it is on Sithonia, the best peninsular of the three. Bird and insect wildlife is suprisingly good.Poppy's Restaurent just up the road provides a close alternative to the site and inland Sikia provides a small rural town outing. Sarti has more going on for a visit, good alternative beaches.Porto Koufo is just a short drive away.
