The two components work together to provide rigidity to the ski for superior performance, but also allow the ski to fold into a compact, easy to transport package. The ski delivers a never-seen-before folding functionality, so part of design is in the role of intuitive folding ability. The fold/unfold is achieved by rotational moves to allow snow or ice to slide out of the way. The areas that are exposed to folding & rotation are designed with care for long-term usage, even after countless repetition. From folded position to unfolded position, it takes around 15-30 seconds to assemble both skis into skiing position. It is a very convenient and easy process. First, you unlock the safety mechanism, then unfold it, rotate the plate in any direction, and align it to the ski. To finish the process, lock the mechanisms in front and back of the plate and release the brake lock to secure the skiing mode. every step of the process is marked on the ski itself to prevent errors.
