You've got to admit that the majority of little girls that want to learn to snowboard probably don't take too kindly to having to ride around on a board that, let's face it, is designed for little boys. So to make sure that those girls got their own kit, Burton came up with Chicklet. This girls specific board has been developed to perfectly match the unique demands that smaller lighter kids need when learning to snowboard. Built around a lightweight twin shape it features the innovative Flat Top with easy Bevel profile. This unique shape combines a flat profile through the length with a side to side bevel across the width. This bevel lifts the edges clear of the snow when on a flat base delivering a hook free ride, but equally important making it easier for lighter riders to roll the board edge to edge, taking a lot of effort out of turning.Internally the combination of the durable FSC approved Fly Core and easy-going Bi-Ax glass structural layers deliver the perfect balance of strength, durability and playful ride, making this one of the easiest boards out there to really learn your craft on.SizeNose WidthWaist WidthTail WidthSidecut RadiusRider weight100cm21.2618.821.264.220-29kg110cm23.1520.323.154.925-34kg

Steering clear of that urge to cut costs and produce what is really just a toy, Bataleon's engineers have taken elements from both the highly acclaimed evil Twin and award-winning Goliath and have integrated them into a proper scaled-down snowboard for kids that really want to push the limits of their riding.Built around a lightweight, balanced twin-tip platform it gives the rider all the control and feel that they could ever need. However, by utilising their versatile freestyle 3BT base profile, they've managed to give the board a level of performance over the rest of the mountain that really does defy its freestyle origins. The unique 3BT base profile divides the base at the tip and tail into three equally-sized sections. The flat centre base gives a solid and stable feel, whilst the medium uplift side base sections deliver a hook-free ride, as well as making the edges work more efficiently and improving float in the pow. This creates a board that takes minimal effort to ride, but which also delivers great performance in any type of terrain and any riding style.Internally Bataleon transplant the full-length wood core from the evil Twin into the Mini Shred. Its combination of poplar with beech stringers running through the centre add pop and snap through the length, giving all the power you could ever need. However by utilising softer Bi-Ax glass structural layers, they've still managed to deliver a more playful freestyle feel, specially tuned to the lighter rider. Finally, the easy to repair extruded base requires minimal maintenance to keep its speed, ensuring Mini Shred ownership is simple and pain-free. Sharing much of its DNA with the full sized Villain, the Villain Grom condenses it down into a pintsize version for those kids really want to push their park riding to the next level. Built around a fully balanced twin shape it delivers all the control that you could ever need, whether spinning off park kickers or onto boxes and rails. Now to step up power and give you the confidence to move away from those ride on rails, Salomon fit the Villain Grom with its responsive Rock Out camber. This poppy profile blends rocker at the tips with camber under the bindings and flat to the middle, delivering a looser more skate inspired ride, but with a powerful centre section under the feet to really add that extra bit of the oomph for bigger airs and higher Ollie's.To ensure that the Villain Grom is more than just a park board though Salomon fit it with their advanced eQ Rad sidecut; this state of the art profile forms the board sidecut from a combination of straight lines of various radius's which distribute the riders energy more efficiently along edges, giving a more solid ride and improved turning response and control.Internally the aspen wood core and Bi-Ax glass structural layers give the Villain Grom a soft and playful flex, which not only makes it easy to ride but also steps up slow speed manoeuvrability and helps lock the board onto rails and boxes. Finally the easy repair extruded eG base gives great glide in all conditions but require minimal maintenance.SizeNose WidthWaist WidthTail WidthSidecut RadiusRider weight133cm2823.6286.735-55kg138cm28.323.828.3735-60kg
Over the past few years the Score has been one of our best selling models. Its combination of class leading freestyle performance and low price make it the perfect choice for riders who want a great performing board, but who are on a tight budget.Built around a directional twin chassis it has the ability to not only rule it in the park but also deliver in any type of terrain, making the Score a truly versatile board. That versatility is nowhere more obvious than with innovative CamRock profile. This advanced shape places rocker zones at the contact points to give the board a more playful freestyle feel whilst also helping the nose come up in powder. These rocker zones then blend into a traditional camera profile under the feet giving the Score a more dynamic and stable overall feel ensuring that it never feels wanting no matter what or where you ride.Internally Nidecker utilise their full wood core. This combines poplar with beech reinforcing in the nose and tail, improving both pop through the length and stepping up torsional stiffness a notch. Now to give the Score it's more playful freestyle feel the structural layers are formed from a more forgiving Bi-Ax glass, however thanks the advanced composite Freeflex 1 construction in the nose and tail, it doesn't pay the price of having to run with a soft feel throughout its whole length, ensuring that the Score really does have the performance to step it up a level. Finally the uhmw 5000 grade base is specially created to give unrivalled wax retention and ensure that the Score delivers its best all of the time.SizeNose WidthWaist WidthTail WidthSidecut RadiusRider weight149cm29.224.629.27.146-70kg152cm29.324.929.37.250-73kg154cm29.424.929.47.354-76kg157cm29.625.129.67.459-82kg159cmW29.825.329.87.564-90+kg

For 2017 both the 110 and 120 come complete with adjustable Mini Shred bindings whilst the 130 is available as board only. WHAT We SAY: When you have big feet you just have to get used to that super tanker slow edge to edge speed. Well stand up and sing Alleluia because those days are over. With the new Phenom, Artec have created a wide board that is big enough for riders with the biggest feet but which reacts and turns like a traditional snowboard. To achieve this they have used the advanced Omega sidecut which straightens up the sidecut at the nose and tail allowing the designers to give a more traditional nose and tail width thereby eliminating that slow edge to edge. The Phenom shares the rest of its design and construction with the acclaimed Novus. This shared DNA creates a board that combines a smooth easy going flex with the pop and response that will satisfy riders from beginner through to good intermediate.WHAT ARTeC SAY: The Phenom is Ultra-wide freestyle performance. For the shredders with truly large feet, this is the widest board in the world. But instead of designing some clunky low performance mega wide board, the Phenom is built to deliver precision control. To achieve this we combine a super wide waist with our exclusive omega sidecut technology, reducing the tip and tail widths, and allowing us to make a board that completely supports plus sized shredders while still being manoeuvrable and quick edge to edge. Featuring a twin tip shape, our IsoTec Wood Core, MonoTec sidewalls and ThetaTec base, the Phenom is for the big kids who still want to play in the park, and get loose on the slopes.Jib: 8 Park: 7 Carve: 6 Powder: 7 Performance: 6

By using the state of the art Dual Digressive side cut profile, which combines a tighter radius between the feet and larger radius at the tip and tail, the Mercy gives a more forgiving skate like feel, so you know that the board's not going to bite you if you get it wrong. Internally the Powercore II wood core and softer flexing Bi-Lite structural layers deliver the perfect balance of pop and drive through the length, with a softer and more forgiving torsional flex. The Calliope is a new addition to the Signal line this season and is aimed at women riders who are looking for a versatile all-mountain board that can handle any type of terrain and riding style with ease. With an all women specific twin shape and centred stance, this board gives great freestyle performance without compromising any all-terrain versatility. Internally Signal have combined a smooth flexing specifically engineered poplar core with a soft and forgiving bi-ax glass to create a medium flexing board that is the perfect choice for riders who demand great performance but who don't want the all or nothing nature normally associated with top end snowboards. With carefully designed geometries perfectly matched to the boards shape and flex, the Calliope gives women riders the perfect balance between performance and comfort. As the sister board to the legendary OG, the Calliope is a great new addition to the women's market and offers unrivalled performance to cost.
The Maet is the perfect choice for any rider from beginner through to expert looking for a freestyle board that is equally at home riding the park as it is charging the whole mountain. Completely redesigned for this season DWD have stepped up both the performance and versatility. The first thing you'll notice is the new balanced twin shape. This features a slightly wider waist width giving a more stable ride and a little more float in the deep stuff. Additionally, the all new profile still retains the traditional camber of the previous Maet but this has been tweaked back a little for a more playful and predictable feel without compromising the way the board rides. Internally DWD have reverted back to a traditional wood core for a more dynamic flex and stepping up the performance a level giving a more solid and responsive ride. With Bi-Ax structural layers and an easy repair extruded base the Maet is both easy to ride and easy to live with.Jib: 6 Park: 7 Carve: 7 Powder: 7 Performance: 6

The emoticon is new for this season and is aimed at riders who are looking for a great performing board that will handle the whole mountain. Its softer mid flex makes it perfect for anyone looking for their first performance board or for a more experienced rider who wants an easier going and relaxing ride. Built around a versatile twin shape it features Yes's CamRock profile. This combines camber under the feet with rocker at the tip and tail to give that perfect balance of performance with a floaty yet forgiving feel. The stand out feature of the emoticon are the new Under Bite edge, these place dents under the feet which shift energy out to the contact points and the centre of the sidecut giving a more predictable feel on the edge. Internally the poplar wood core with Bi-Ax weave glass structural layers delivers great performance but with a more forgiving ride, match this with the low maintenance base and you have a board that gives great performance over the whole mountain.Jib: 7 Park: 7 Carve: 7 Powder: 7 Performance: 6
The Spectrum is an all new board for this season and is designed to deliver optimum performance both in the park and in the urban environment. Built around a new low profile blunt nose twin tip chassis with the 'No Preload' base profile, it gives a progressive and balanced ride, perfect for when you need the ultimate in control. Internally the Pop core constructed from both Poplar and Beech with Spruce blocks in the tip and tail is reinforced with the new Carbonbon cross bracing. This creates a poppy flex and increases torsional stiffness in the tip and tail. What makes the Spectrum so special is the Reactive Flex structural layers. These are designed to alter the shape of the board to specific styles of riding. For example when you board-slide a rail the reactive flex pulls the board's edges up, creating a convex shape across the width which minimises the chance of hooking up. Then, when the board is pushed into a turn, the base forms a concave shape forcing the edges into the snow, improving edge hold. This ability to change its feel so dramatically makes the Spectrum perfect for serious riders who are unwilling to make any compromise on performance. The sintered base is both super tough and super-fast in a wide variety of conditions. Jib: 9 Park: 9 Carve: 6 Powder: 5 Performance: 7

The all-terrain Push-Up is aimed at women riders who are looking for a board that delivers superb performance in all types of terrain and conditions. Built around a directional tapered shape it's mostly at home blasting piste runs and dropping powder lines, but thanks to its versatile Freestyle 3BT base shape it's more than capable of delivering a run through the park that would satisfy even the most freestyle specific rider. By combining equally sized flat base sections with medium uplift side base sections in both the nose and tail, the Push Up's 3BT profile not only delivers a rock solid and stable ride through the turn, but it also gives a really playful feel as well as delivering great float in the pow, making this one of the most versatile all-terrain boards on the market. Add to this a traditional dynamic camber profile and the Push-Up comes alive in all types of terrain and riding. Internally Bataleon utilise their Reactor wood core. This high-end poplar core adds beech stringers along the edges to deliver extra power and response to the sidecut, ensuring that the Push-Up has the performance to deliver no matter how hard you push. Now one of the secrets to the versatile performance of the Push-Up is that Bataleon has resisted the urge to use a stiffer Tri-Ax glass for the structural layers. Instead they've stayed with a softer Bi-Ax variant, giving the board a more playful feel, ensuring that on those days when you just want to cruise this is one board that isn't going to feel like deadwood. But don't go thinking that the softer glass has killed the performance. Thanks to the addition of Basalt reinforcing running from the insert pack to both contact points, the Push Up delivers truly remarkable performance for a board that isn't super stiff. Finally the high molecular density low maintenance extruded HTP base gives you a super-fast glide in all conditions. The Fate is aimed at intermediate riders who are looking for a responsive yet easy going board for riding the whole mountain. Whether it's cruising the piste, hunting out powder stashes or even lapping the park, the Fate takes it all in its stride. Built around a versatile directional twin shape it delivers a balanced yet responsive ride no matter where you take it. The secret to the Fate's versatility though, is the combination of RoofChop camber and Dual Digressive side cut. This low positive camber with a flat centre zone dissipates the rider's energy evenly along the edges. This works in harmony with the innovative sidecut shape to improve the edge hold, whilst still giving a slightly more playful and forgiving freestyle feel. Internally the Powerlite Poplar and Beech core is milled with the Reflex core profile, this creates a lively flex through the length but thanks to the Bi-Lite structural layers it does this without sacrificing any of the board's friendlier nature. The sintered HP base is both super fast and super tough.Jib: 6 Park: 6 Carve: 7 Powder: 7 Performance: 7

For 2017 both the 110 and 120 come complete with adjustable Mini Shred bindings whilst the 130 is available as board only. The Talent Scout is all new for this season and is aimed at park focussed riders who are looking to step away from those soft jib specific boards and into a true top end board. Built around a twin shape it utilises the new Pure Pop camber profile. This combination of camber between the bindings, flat section to the outside of the feet and rocker at the tip and tail increase pop for bigger airs and more stable landings without sacrificing that looser skate inspired ride. With the addition of the early Rise tips and Frostbite edges the Talent Scout can easily break out of the park and into the rest of the mountain. Internally the Super Fly core is milled with the new Off Axis Squeezebox profiling to create the perfect flex pattern which follows the alignment of the rider's feet, whilst the torsionally responsive Tri-Ax glass structural layers deliver a truly stunning ride.Jib: 8 Park: 8 Carve: 5 Powder: 5 Performance: 7
