A great entry-level alternative to the low-end tents found at many big box retailers, the economical Kelty Acadia 6 offers two doors, two vestibules and plenty of overhead room. The Acadia 6 is a durable, cost-effective option for family campers. The Acadia 6 provides a whopping 80 square feet of interior space and just over 6 feet of overhead peak height! Internal storage pockets provide places to stow gear and maximize available floor space for sleeping or playing games on a rainy day. Two doors offer easy entry and exit points and two vestibules, of 33 and 13 square feet (46 square feet combined), offer additional exterior storage space for muddy shoes or a protected area to store fire wood or camp chairs in wet weather. NOTE: The Acadia 6's fiberglass poles are heavier and more fragile than aluminum poles, but wrapped construction makes them stronger than the fiberglass poles found on many department store tents. A third brow pole, constructed from DAC Hybrid aluminum, and continuous pole-sleeve construction help to reinforce the structure and support the rainfly of the Acadia 6. A full, mesh canopy allows for good ventilation in warm, humid weather and the ArcEdge floor design with taped seams protects the floor for the Acadia 6 tent from wet weather. An optional footprint (sold separately) further protects the floor of the Kelty Acadia 6 camping tent against ground water, roots and rocks. 40815012
Named for its innovative, encircling overhead support pole, the Marmot Halo 6P offers a full 100 square feet of interior space for base camping or family camping. When elbow room and overhead height are a priority, the Halo 6P offers standout performance. In addition to its cavernous interior, the Halo 6P includes integrated vestibules that boasts 32 square feet of sheltered storage space. Large doors provide convenient access from either end of the tent. Interior pockets offer an additional storage option. DAC Press Fit aluminum poles lend the Halo 6P sturdy, freestanding support. A unique pole design combines two sections to form a hoop that encircles the entire top of the Halo 6P, helping to pull the walls of the tent taut and vertical, increasing the overall peak height and creating additional sturdy support for the rainfly. Ground level side vents, an integrated fly vent and extensive mesh on the walls and ceiling provide the Halo 6P with ventilation and combat condensation. The weatherproof floor and rainfly combine to protect the interior of the Halo 6P from the elements. A compatible, custom-fit footprint, sold separately, can be used to further protect the floor of the Marmot Halo 6P from sharp objects, mud and ground water. 2723

Buyers Guide

Tents of this size are great for groups and families. Most tents of this size are split into 2 or 3 rooms enabling a small level of privacy between occupants.

Younger children may like the independence of having their own room, without the responsibility of having their own separate tent. However, older children may feel that sleeping in the same tent as their parents is like sleeping in the same bedroom and may prefer their own tent.
