50L to 59L Rucksacks Buyers Guide

This size of bag is about the smallest you would want to consider for using on a trip. Anything smaller and you will struggle to last more than a couple of days.

This size of bag will be too small for camping, except for small children taking only small tents with them. This size of bag is only really suitable for travelling in Hotels and Hostels.

If you will be carrying heavy items, you could maybe consider a bag with waist straps to help take some of the weight off your shoulders. Anything less than 300D-400D material thickness is likely to struggle and may rip easily, especially where straps join to the bag. So, consider going for 600D or thicker.

Extra compartments can make it a lot easier to find key items and external webbing can be useful for attaching extra items to the outside of the bag if you manage to fill it up.
