Buyers Guide

This size of bag is about the smallest that you should consider for a camping trip as you will be carrying your tent and sleeping bag with you, along with your cooking utensils too.

Material thickness of 600D may be adequate, but something thicker should be longer lasting, particularly if you are camping. Hostelling and hotelling should consider 600D to be a suitable material thickness.

A strong waist strap will help to spread the load around your body and make it a lot more comfortable.

Whilst you may not be wearing this size of rucksack for long periods, the weight of the contents mean that comfort should be a consideration. Look for comfort features and easily adjustable straps to fit it to your body.

External webbing will allow you to attach other items to the outside of your bag if you manage to fill up the inside.
