Surfing Beach Village / Santa Maria Reviews

Surfing Beach Village / Santa Maria

Arriving as a pedestrian passenger on the ferry from Athens, it was the usual fair of campsite and hotel touts in Paros to greet us. Tired and hungry we opted for the first campsite tout and his comfortable looking minibus. The drive from the ferry and the port town to the campsite was about 20 minutes. On arrival we had to pitch our tent in the moonlight because we had arrived so late. It wasnt until the morning that we saw how beautiful Paros and Santa Maria actually were. The campsite was located on the beach with, at a guess, 500 pitches, all in secluded tree and planted areas. The facilities were amazing. Brand new and super clean - toilet paper and everything!! On the beach there was a selection of watersports; wind surfing, jet skis etc... there was also a cool bar and a restuarant, all exclusive to the site. As fas as i could tell, the beach was private to the site as well. Within the site, there was a huge swimming pool, but the icing on the cake was definately the sunken bar into the pool, so you could drink at bar whilst in the pool- fantastic. Access from the campsite to the main town was good too. the site offered an hourly minibus service to and from. The port town in Paros is georgeous, winding cobbled streets amongst pure white greek architecture. loads of little bars, restaurants and craft shops. I cant recommend Paros enough. In a word, Perfect.
