Keel Sandybanks Caravan and Camping Park, Achill Island

This was an excellent campsite, and briliant value for money. Two of us stayed in a tent for the August bank holiday weekend and we really enjoyed it. It's right on Keel beach, which is brilliant if you're there for surfing like we were.

Because of the bank holiday weekend it was quite busy, and the hot water ran out in the showers a few times, but I heard someone say it was their busiest weekend ever, so I don't think they can be faulted for the facilities being a bit over stretched.

It was a bit windy some of the time, due to the location, but we just parked the car up close to the tent to block the worst of it and got on fine. Excellent!

This campsite is excellent, cheap and full of all the necesities you need. Located just behind the sand dunes of Keel beach the views are breathtaking. Can be a bit windy but that usually comes with the location. The site offers everything, toilets, showers, laudry, cookers, fridges, electrical hook ups and even a TV room.
The surrounding area is stunning and full of character. Value for money this one is hard to beat.
