Camping Maralunga, La Spezia

I stayed at this campsite in July 2003 for 3 nights while hiking at Cinque-terre. We took buses each way from La Spezia to Lerici (~40min) and the locals on the bus told us where to get off, near a small beach I think. Then we walked through a tunnel and up through people's backyards on a couple stone roads. It was a beautiful 10-15min hike to the campsite (there was probably an easier way to get there but we didn't mind!)
The campsite had cold showers all the time, which was annoying but tolerable since it was a very warm week. The market on site was great, and the staff helpful. I recommend earplugs if you're hoping to sleep because the campsite is on a cliff that overlooks the ocean and the waves crashing against the cliffs is remarkable (think: Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia) but quite loud at night!
