Enkhuizer Zand, Enkhuizen

Spacious site with pleasant grassy meadow for all touring units just outside 16thC. town walls. Rates are good and include free hot showers and access to adjacent municipal swimming baths. Some of the supplemental loos scattered about the site are portakabins and are of poor quality and no loo-paper! There is a heronry at the north end of the site as well as some sort of bizarre zoo - animal noises a feature! - the area is very good for coastal birds. Enkhuizen is a beautiful small town with many fine buildings and canals. A motorable dyke crosses the Ijsselmeer to Lelystat, the eastern Netherlands and beyond.
