Camping La Breña Reviews

Camping La Breña 5/5 5 stars

25 minute drive from the center of Cordoba.
Nice big plots. Most plots have water and electric.
Good facilities with stupendous views of the resvoire and castle.
The site is basically a botanic park.
The area is devided into 'streets' named after the type of tree planted there. Oaks, palms, olives....incredible.
Great pool.
Excellent food in the restaurant...authentic home cooking at really good prices (I gave up cooking because it was cheaper to eat in the restaurant) !
Mostly Spaniards stay there, mostly locals from Cordoba or Almodovar...and they have a different way of camping then I am used to....the whole family, grandma, nieces and nephews, the dog, the fridge and the TELEVISION all are part of their camping experience...one group even arrived with a keg of beer and a huge freezer unit.
So be prepared for noise. Spaniards do not go to sleep until 2 AM.
But, there is a solution to this.
Because it really is a great place I suggest you choose a plot far from any other plot, on the outskirts of the camping, for instance. This site is never crowded so you have tons of choices regarding which site you want! They won't tell you what site you are to stay in...you walk around and choose the site you want.
Ask the gardener for a 'toldo' upon arriving. He will give you, free of charge, a huge fabric material which you can tie up between the four trees which border every plot...this helps keep you in the shade.
I enjoyed this camping immensely and plan on a return next year.
