Camping Orea
We stayed at OREA campsite about 5 years ago, and I can assure you it´s one of the most remote places you can imagine in a Western European country! Orea is a small village very near the border of two extremely unknown hinterland provinces of Spain: Guadalajara and Teruel. Population density in these two(and other) provinces doesn´t reach 15 inhabitants per km2!
To get to this campsite you have to take a narrow mountain road in OREA and drive through a thick,endless-seeming pine forest.
Be prepared for really low temperatures at night, even in the middle of summer. This is the highest campsite on the Iberian Peninsula: over 1400 metres above sea-level!
Camping here is a very very qiet thing. Within a day´s drive there are several natural beauties: The beautiful valleys of the upper Tagus (Tajo)and the mountain range of ALBARRACIN. By the way, visiting this little village is like taking a walk into the Middle Ages.
We liked it very much, especially for the quietness and the beautiful walks in the forest.
Bathing is difficult: there is a brook near, but it´s usually too shallow, especially in the summer months.
