Scoutscroft Holiday Centre Reviews

Scoutscroft Holiday Centre 5/5 5 stars

This site caters mainly for caravans as we found out to our cost. The field is small and VERY uneven, the best pitches are around the perimeter. At weekends campers are admitted as late a 10pm to pitch up, which can be a bit noisy for families, and tents are also a bit close for comfort and a small gazebo costs a whopping £3 extra per night. For an overnight stay it is acceptable but any longer than that is not advisable. Get ready to do battle with the wasps at THE water tap which is sited near the bins. There is no facility for change of ice blocks or a camp shop. Don't bother to use the chippy, disgusting, I kid you not. You should make certain that you have the correct code for the toilet (it changes, be aware!). Get shower tokens from reception and always make sure the shower works BEFORE you strip off. To prevent pollution of the environment you should make sure you visit the toilet before 8 or after 8.30 in the morning, as when the toilet block is being cleaned you are NOT allowed in no matter how desperate, how much you dance about or how much you beg...you are told, by the 'nice' lady you must walk to the to the caravan toilet block, only a few minutes away but which can seem an age when needy...get your timing right! Don't go at weekends expecting a lie in, the kids play footie from 6.45 in the morning. We were told when we telephoned the campsite that the facilities were excellent, this may be sort of true for caravans, but most definitely not for tents.
