Applecross Camp Site Reviews

Applecross Camp Site

The rod to Applecross is called the pass of the cattle - 2055 feet, up and down in 7 miles, spectacular scenery, hairpin bends. Campsite spread across 2 fields, grassy and flat. Wonderful views across to Raasay and Skye . campsite cost £11 a night for tents in 2003. Facilities basic but clean 2 toilet blocks, the one in the first field is the better of the two. There is a good cafe on site and the Applecross inn just a few yards away. Food is top class if a little expensive. Beware of the midgies, they love this place and come here in their millions.

Applecross Camp Site

What a fabulous position! We nearly had a problem of getting bogged down in our motorhome as at present there are only 2 hardstanding pitches although it looks like more are being prepared. Also toilet facilities and some other facilities are in the process of being updated as they are a bit basic at present. The Applecross Inn is only yards away and serves fantastic food.

Applecross Camp Site

Went to Applecross last year, can be difficult to get there, hairpin bends ( as seen in Alps) on the Bealach na Bla ( take other route if towing or overloaded) - worth visiting at least once in a lifetime. Clean spacious site with own eatery.(and sometimes entertainment) Camped overlooking sea (clifftop view) thought tent would implode - very windy- perhaps further back may have been a wiser choice. ...But go and enjoy the experience.
