Gorten Sands Caravan Site, Arisaig

I'd like to warn potential visitors to this site to choose more wisely. This site is run by one of the most rudiest men (Mr MacDonald) I have ever come across in the 25 years that I have been visiting this beautiful part of the world. He does not allow friends to drop by or anyone to drive on to his land to view the site. The facilities are disgraceful.

Gorten Sands is the worst caravan site in the Arisaig area. The owner - Mr MacDonald is the most unfriendly site owner we have ever come across. The site and toilets are dirty. Take my advice and take your business to a better run campsite.

Having just visited the Gorten Sands site I have to tell you that myself & my family(a 12 year old son & 4 year old daughter)had a ball!! the facilities were always clean, the showers hot & Mr Macdonald(who has been slated in other reviews) was friendly & helpful.
As is to be expected in the west coast of Scotland the midges could be rife - so it goes without saying that an effective midge repellant is essential.

Stunning location, the beach and views are the best in Scotland...shame about the very unfriendly attitude of owners husband, Mr Macdonald I think...give him a wide berth.
Toilets and facilities are generally very poor, no shop or gas re-fills. Dogs are tolerated, but only just. It seems that the owners are content to take the money, but offer nothing in return, except the scenery....be warned !
