Riverside Caravan & Camping Park
Visited on 5/7/2003 - This is a small Caravan & Camping Club Certified site, situated right on the river front which takes tents, caravans and motor homes. Toilet & showers were wonderfully clean. There is a laundry (Β£2.00 per load) and small children?s play area. The staff are friendly and helpful. Sweets, cold drinks, tea, coffee, ice-creams and Calor gas are available from the site office. Motor boats are available for hire.
Bishopthorpe village is 5 minutes walk and has 3 good pubs which serve food, 2 of which have children?s play areas. There is also a chip shop, newsagent with lottery point, post-office, bakery and late-opening mini-supermarket/off-license. Regular buses run into York. Be warned ? there are no cash points in the village. The nearest is at Tesco (5 minute drive).
