Stopped over there a couple of times to go to Alton Towers with the kids (which seems to be most peoples intentions) Bar in the old mansion house, open air swimming pool at side of house, small reception/shop area. Toilets basic and the lights apparently go off between 1am and 6am -so take torch with you for early morning shower.
Owners friendly.Flat ground, tents best pitched away from house over by hedge for sunnier location, under trees near house can be artic in the morning -Commonsense tip- don't pitch near the disposal area as the whole world roll their barrels past you in the morning as you're cooking breakfast!!!Overall an o.k. site for stopover or visit to Alton Towers and nearby attractions.
