Directions
From Paris:

Take the Autoroute A1 north until it joins the A25 at Lille (after junction 20)

Motorways seem to be coming at your left and right, but just keep following the signs to Dunkerke at all times. This way you will be lead to the A25.

Leave Autoroute A25 at junction 10. Follow signs to Bailleul (just off Autoroute) and Ieper or Ypres (whichever spelling!) following the D23 then N375 after you pass the unregulated border with Belgium. Always follow the signs to Ypres/Ieper in preference to Bailleul.

About 13 kilometers from Bailleul you will see a white painted café called "Tommies" on your right just outside a village called Dikkebus. Slow down as you approach this café as the entrance to Camalou is immediately before this café. There is a yellow sign post directing you to your accommodation.

From the Eurotunnel:

Leave the Eurotunnel complex and follow signposts Autoroute A26 (E-15 / E-402) to Calais, Bruxelles Lille & Dunkerque (amongst others). Whatever you do, do not follow the signs to Boulogne.

At first you will be following signs for A26, but the road you are heading for is the A16 (E-15 / E40) north to Dunkerque & Bruxelles etc. Watch for split with the A26 (Arras etc) and the small red A16 sign on top of the main signposts. Soon the Autoroute from the tunnel splits. DO NOT follow signs for A16 Bolougne etc. Always follow signs to Dunkerque & Bruxelles.

After approx 25 miles leave the A16 at junction 28 following signs for the Autoroute A25 signposted east to Lille and Ypres (amongst others).

NB - Ypres is the French spelling of the town you are heading towards. The Flemish spelling is Ieper (with an 'I' and not an 'L' as so many seem to think - but still pronounced pretty much the same) which you will see more often as you approach/cross the Belgian border.

After approx 18 miles leave the A25 at junction 13 signposted Steenvoorde & Ieper. At the 'T' junction with the D948 (200 metres) turn left following signs to Ypres and Poperinge.

NB - After approx 3 miles the D948 becomes the N38 (after crossing the unregulated Belgium border).

Follow the N38 for about 7 miles until the road comes to a 'T' junction with the N19 (just outside of Poperinge). Turn right at this junction following blue signs to N38 Ieper (also green sign A19 Kortrijk).

Having turned right follow the N38 for 1/2 mile. Go straight ahead at the roundabout. Continue approx. 1 mile further, turn right at the first set of traffic lights, following blue signs to N38 Ieper (also green signs A19 Kortrijk).

After approx 3.7 miles you will come to a junction on your right signposted Dikkebus and Voormezele. Turn right here.

After approx 1.7 miles you will come to a crossroads with the N375. Turn right at this crossroads following signs to Dikkebus .

After about 500 metres you will see a white painted 'Tommies' café on your left. Slow down as you approach this café as the entrance to Camalou is immediately before this café (yellow sign).

From Calais Ferry:

Leave the ferry complex and follow signposts Autoroute A26 (E-15 / E-402) to Bruxelles, Lille & Dunkerque (amongst others).

After about 500 metres you will see 'Tommies' café on your left. Slow down as you approach this café as the entrance to Camalou is immediately before this café (yellow sign).

From Albert:

At Albert take the D929 direction Bapaume. In Bapaume follow the N17 direction Arras.

As you approach Arras you have 2 options: Follow centre ville and visit the tunnels under the Town Hall (there is still W.W.I equipment to see) or keep following the N17 direction Lens. At Vimy follow the signpost on your left: Memorial Canadien or better known as Vimy Ridge.

After Vimy keep following the N17 to Lens.

As you approach Lens you have to make a choice again: Autoroute to Lille or the more scenic road N47 to La Bassée. In La Bassée take the D947 to Estaires. Between La Bassée and Estaires you will see a lot of Commonwealth cemeteries.

In Estaires follow the D18 and later D38 to Bailleul. Follow signs to Bailleul (just off Autoroute) and Ieper or Ypres following the D23 then N375 after you pass the unregulated border with Belgium.Always follow the signs to Ypres/Ieper in preference to Bailleul.

13 kilometers from Bailleul you will see "Tommies" café on your right just outside a village called Dikkebus. Slow down as you approach this café as the entrance to Camalou is immediately before this café. There is a yellow sign post directing you to your accommodation.

Follow the track to the group of buildings at the end Camalou is the furthest of these buildings.
