Blackmore Vale Caravan and Camping Park
Friendly site near Shaftesbury with flat grassy pitches for tents. Hot showers, washing up sinks and hand washing facilities available. You can hire cycles from the filling station and there is a restaurant across the road, but we did not try it. Nearest pub is about 1 mile along the A 30. Rates are very reasonable and there is even a rate for cyclist and tent (£3.50 in August 2001). There are no "amusements " so the site is very quiet. Drawbacks are: no food available, situated on the A 30 so there is traffic noise during the day, but at night this dies down and did not disturb us. Caravan and Camping Club listed.
