Glass increases the stiffness of the binding and the general rule of thumb is that the less glass fill, the softer the binding will be. Regrind is the excess waste from the injection moulding process that gets ground up and injected back into your products. A little bit is ok, but it's very hard to control exactly how much regrind the suppliers are putting back into your bindings. Fix control this in two ways, (1) they control their own production including injection moulding, and (2) they take all of the production waste and repurpose it to make your binding box, which you can reuse however you see fit.
